Privacy policy
Updated 2026-10-02
Stair3D (stair3d.com) is operated from Quebec, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights. We collect as little as we can and we never sell personal information.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you ask for your files or join a waiting list.
- Your stair measurements, when you ask for your files: the server uses them to build the .zip when you click the link.
- Your language and country (from your connection), to write to you in the right language and know where the site is used.
- Your consent to news, only if you tick the box for it.
- Technical logs (IP address, date, page requested), kept by our servers for security.
- An anonymous page counter: for each page viewed, its address, the site you came from and the time — no cookie, no identifier, no IP address. It cannot recognise you.
- Audience measurement, only if you accept it: a random identifier kept in your browser (local storage), the pages you view and the time spent, your device and browser, the site you came from, and an approximate city derived from your IP address (the address itself is not kept).
The stair designer also keeps your measurements in your browser (local storage) so you find them on your next visit. They are not sent to us until you ask for your files.
Why
- To email you the download link for your files.
- To tell you when the stair type you are waiting for is ready.
- To send you Stair3D news, only if you agreed to it. Every email lets you unsubscribe.
- To protect the site against abuse.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it (page counter, and audience measurement if you accept it).
We use no advertising cookies. You can change your audience measurement choice at any time at the bottom of this page.
Who else sees it
We use providers that process information on our behalf, only to run the service:
- WHC (Canada): hosting of the site and the database.
- Cloudflare (United States): content delivery and protection of the site.
- Resend (United States): email delivery.
- ip-api.com: approximate city, region and country from the IP address, only if you accepted audience measurement.
Some of these providers are outside Quebec. We give them only what they need, and they must protect it.
How long
- File requests (email and measurements): 12 months, then deleted.
- Waiting lists: until the stair type you wait for opens, or until you leave the list.
- Consent to news: until you withdraw it.
- Technical logs: 90 days.
- Page counter and audience measurement: 12 months, then deleted.
- Your choice to accept or decline audience measurement: one year in your browser, then we ask again.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to privacy@stair3d.com. We answer within 30 days.
If you are in Quebec, you can also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information. Elsewhere, you can contact the data protection authority of your country.
